Who We Are
Rooted in culture and tradition, we strive to fulfill our vision in every aspect of our identity. Descendants of Running Antelope, Moses Bird Horse (Kicks Iron), KitáÅ‹ NážiÅ‹, and ÁÅ‹pó Ománi WiÅ‹, we look to implement our rich Lakota Horsemen history in everything we create. We are only able to accomplish this through prayer, sobriety, and the continued guidance of our relatives who are no longer among us, and hard work.

For years the Bird Horse women have talked, dreamed, envisioned, and worked tirelessly at making Bird Horse Designs a reality. Lead by Heather Bird Horse, in late 2024 BHD has traveled throughout Indian country setting up at various markets, fairs, pow wows, and bazaars and slowly expanding to a larger presence on social media (facebook & instagram). In 2025, Bird Horse designs formally launched onto a larger platform, and expanding our web presence.

Today, in 2026, we look to expand our presence by formally launching our website, soon to be followed by the launch of our web store. We acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the teachings, sacrifices, and the ground work laid by our Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Uncles, Aunts, and Mothers & Fathers. and for them, we always give thanks to the creator.
